About Us

Wonder Dogs, Ltd., is an Arizona non-profit corporation whose purpose is to provide peer-assisted training and support for people with ADA Service, Social and Professional Therapy, Personal Therapy, Home Help and Home Companion Dogs.  We are NOT professional dog trainers.  We work together to teach our dogs useful or desirable skills and to maintain those skills at an effective level.

ADA Service Dogs are trained to assist people with disabilities at home and in public. Service dog partners teach their dog basic obedience skills, assistance skills and appropriate public behavior.

Social and Professional Therapy Dogs are trained to interact with people other than their partners in such fields of activity as behavioral development, elder socialization, physical and speech rehabilitation, therapy and/or other skills according to the preferences and aptitudes of each partnership.

Personal Therapy Dogs provide companionship and comfort to their partners. If appropriate, their training may include public access skills.

Home Help Dogs learn basic obedience and skills useful in the home environment. The partnership does not   engage in the lengthy and exacting behavioral training essential for public access.

Home Companion Dogs learn minimum basic obedience skills, chosen by their partners, necessary for co-existance within the partnership. Any partnership wishing to extend training beyond the basic level is eligible for continuing participation.
